Ridge Road Baptist Church
Over the last 18 months, the Triangle has become home to hundreds of Ukrainian families that fled the Russian invasion and came to the United States. Our Ukrainian newcomers receive support with housing, food, medical assistance, English instruction, and school supplies from our local community and their American sponsors. The Ukrainian Cultural Center of the Triangle helps refugees connect with one another through programs steeped in Ukrainian traditions and language.
- Math Club (Thursdays, 4:00 PM) – Ukrainian students get assistance in math, taught in their native tongue.
- Dance Club (Thursdays, 7:00 PM) – Ukrainian folk dance for children and teens.
- Saturday School (Saturdays, 9:00 AM) – classes for preschool and elementary school children throughout the morning. If they want to, parents share and connect in another room.
- Drama Club: (Tuesdays, 5:00 PM) – NEW! – Ukrainian theatre for children and teens.
- Special Events – throughout the year, the Cultural Center hosts meals, concerts, poetry readings, and other gatherings for the Ukrainian immigrant and refugee community.
Ukrainians in the Carolinas
The Ukrainian Cultural Center is hosted by The Ridge and run by Ukrainians in the Carolinas, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) NC nonprofit organization. Their network of Ukrainian-American volunteers and friends of Ukraine has been serving to assist the people of Ukraine since 2014, when Russia invaded Ukraine. With hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians killed, many more wounded and millions displaced, Europe’s largest democracy is now fighting to protect its home and defend and preserve freedom for Ukraine and for the rest of the world.
